TARZAN - THE BECKONING
According to Thomas Yeates, “Writing and illustrating Tarzan The Beckoning was a dream job for me. However, some things went wrong in the production of the originally series, mainly 8 pages in issue 3 were printed out of order and some of the coloring was problematic. 25 years later with the opportunity to correct these production problems as well as tweak the art and story for a graphic novel collection I dove back into The Beckoning. The original coloring had a beautiful and unique watercolor technique but printed too dark and was a little shy on green in the rain forest scenes, among other issues. What I tried to do was maintain the best aspects of the original water colors while making it easier to see the ink drawings. The touch ups took several months with three of us working on it in our spare time, My daughter Olivia Yeates, Christopher Lods and myself."
"Special thanks to Henning Kure and extra special thanks to Germond von Wowern for supplying the invaluable 25 year old film to work from.”
